Answer:

All forms of matter (solid, liquid and gas) undergo expansion on heating. When a solid is heated, the atoms gain energy and vibrate more vigorously. This results in the expansion of the solid. For a given change in temperature, the extent of expansion is smaller in solids than in liquids and gases. This is due to the rigid nature of solids.

Which kinds of objects emit visible light in the electromagnetic spectrum?
Triss [41]

Answer : Relatively hot objects

Explanation : We know that, the temperature of the objects is inversely proportional to their wavelengths. The objects emitting radiation in the visible region have short wavelength and hence are relatively hotter.

We know the range of wavelength of the visible spectrum is from 400 nm to 780 nm.

The hydronium ion concentration in an aqueous solution is [H+] = 5.3 x10-4 M. What is the hydroxide ion concentration? Is this s
VladimirAG [237]

Answer:a

Explanation:

Given

[H^+]=5.3\times 10^{-4}\ M

and pH+pOH=14

Also pH=-\log [H^+]

therefore pH=-\log (5.3\times 10^{-3})

pH=-(-4-\log (5.3))

pH=3.275

Thus pOH=14-3.275

pOH=10.275

and pOH=-\log [OH^{-}]

[OH]^{-1}=10^{-10.25}

[OH]^{-1}=1.88\times 10^{-11}\ M

As the pH is less than 7 therefore solution is acidic

An object in equilibrium has three forces exerted on it. a 42 n force acts at 90° from the x-axis and a 46 n force acts at 60° f
Olegator [25]
Since the object is in equilibrium, then the sum of the forces acting on it is zero. You must do the sum of forces for the component "y" and for the component "x". From there you clear the components of the third force. Then you must find the direction and magnitude.
The result is a force of 85.01N at 74.30 degrees from the x axis. Attached solution.
