What is the initial temperature (°C) of a system that has the pressure decreased by 10 times while the volume increased by 5 tim
Ede4ka [16]

Answer:

300K

Explanation:

Given pressure of the system decreased by 10 times which means P_{2} =\frac{P_{1} }{10}

Given the volume of the system increased by 5 times which means V_{2} =5\times V_{1}

Given final temperature T_{2}=150K

Let the initial temperature be T_{1}

We know that PV=nRT

As n and R are constant \frac{PV}{T}=constant

\frac{P_{1}V_{1} }{T_{1}} =\frac{P_{2}V_{2}}{T_{2}}

T_{1} =\frac{P_1V_1}{P_2V_2} T_{2}

T_{1} =2\times T_{2}

T1=300K

1) What is air pressure? (4 Points)
Nataly [62]

<span>1)    </span><span>What is air pressure? (Answ</span>er: Atmospheric pressure, sometimes also called barometric pressure, is the pressure within the atmosphere of Earth.)

<span>2)    </span><span>What is a barometer and what is it used to measure? <span>(Answer: A barometer is a scientific instrument used in meteorology to measure atmospheric pressure. Pressure tendency can forecast short term changes in the weather.)</span></span>

<span>3)    </span><span>How does air pressure change?  <span>(Answer: Millibar values used in meteorology range from about 100 to 1050. At sea level, standard air pressure in millibars is 1013.2. Weather maps showing the pressure at the surface are drawn using millibars. ... This change in pressure is caused by changes in air density, and air density is related to temperature.)</span></span>

<span>4)    </span><span>Why is cooler, drier air related to High Pressure? <span>(Answer: This is due to density differences between the two air masses. Since stronger high-pressure systems contain cooler or drier air, the air mass is denser and flows towards areas that are warm or moist, which are in the vicinity of low pressure areas in advance of their associated cold fronts.)</span></span>

<span>5)    </span><span>Why is warm, moister air related to Low Pressure?  <span>(Answer: When air warms, its molecules scatter. The air becomes lighter and rises.)</span></span>

Burning one gallon of gasoline releases 20 pounds of CO2 into the air. Harry’s compact car can travel 25 miles on one gallon of
son4ous [18]
There are several information's already given in the question. Based on those information's, the answer can be easily deduced.
Amount of gasoline required by Harry's car to travel 25 miles = 1 gallon
Then
amount of gasoline required
by Harry's car to travel 15000 miles = 15000/25
                                                         = 600 gallons
So
Amount of CO2 released by burning 1 gallon of gasoline = 20 pounds
Then
Amount of CO2 released
by burning 600 gallon of gasoline = 600 * 20
                                                      = 12000 pounds
From the above deduction, it can be concluded that the amount of CO2 that will be added by Harry's car to the atmosphere is 12000 pounds.
