Carbon monoxide and molecular oxygen react to form carbon dioxide. A 50.0 L reactor at 25.0 oC is charged with 1.00 bar of CO. T

he gas is then pressurized with O2 to give a total pressure of 3.52 bar. The reactor is sealed, heated to 350 oC to drive the reaction to completion, and cooled back to 25.0 oC. Compute the final partial pressure of each gas (in bar).

Answer:

CO = zero

CO2 =1 bar

O2  = 2.02 bar

Explanation:

We are given

initial pressure of CO = 1bar

total pressure = 3.52 bar

so initial pressure of O2 = 3.52 - 1 = 2.52 bar

the reaction is

2CO + O2 →  2CO2

using the unitary method

2 moles of CO2 → 1 mole of O2

1  bar of CO → \frac{1}{2} * 1= 0.5 bar (required)

but we have more oxygen present , that means CO is the limiting reagent

  • Final pressure of CO will be zero as it is the limiting reagent so it will be consumed completely
  • 1 bar of CO → \frac{2mol CO2}{2mol CO} * 1= 1 bar of CO2
  • 2.52 bar O2 (initially) - 0.5 bar (reacted) = 2.02bar O2

How many grams would 3.36 × 1023 molecules of copper (II) sulfate (CuSO4) weigh?
Semenov [28]
Molar mass ( CuSO₄) = 159.609 g/mol

159.609 g ----------------- 6.02 x 10²³ molecules
         ? g ------------------ 3.36 x 10²³ molecules

mass = ( 3.36 x10²³) x 159.609 / 6.02 x 10²³

mass = 5.36 x 10²⁴ / 6.02 x 10²³

mass = 8.90 g

The answer would be A will increase and T will decrease.

The product of this reaction emits red light because it absorbs green and blue light. As the reaction occurs, the concentration of the product increase. This will makes absorbance of green and blue light increases and the solution will become redder.

Choose the words to finish the sentence. After learning about the law of conservation of mass, Sammy became interested in balanc
cestrela7 [59]

The chemical equation is unbalanced and synthesized.

What is a chemical equation?

A chemical equation is described as the symbolic representation of a chemical reaction in the form of symbols and chemical formulas.

In a chemical equation, the reactant entities are given on the left-hand side and the product entities is shown on the right-hand side with a plus sign between the entities in both the reactants and the products, and an arrow that indicates towards the products to show the direction of the reaction.

We can conclude that in the chemical equation shown is unbalanced because both amounts of the individual elements and compounds do not reflect on the reactant and product side.

The complete question is below:

After learning about the law of conservation of mass, Sammy became interested in balancing equations. He knew that the symbol for aluminum was Al and silver tarnish was Ag2S. He also knew that mixing the two chemicals yielded pure silver, or Ag, in an aluminum sulfide solution. Here is the equation showing this reaction:

3 Ag2S + 2 Al → 6 Ag + Al2S3

This equation is (synthesis / unbalanced / replacement / balanced), and it represents a(n) (unbalanced / balanced / synthesized / replaced) chemical reaction.

answer choices:

  • synthesis; balanced

  • balanced; replacement

  • unbalanced; synthesized

  • balanced; balanced
