When given the symbol, you can look on the periodic table of elements to find what the atomic number is, which is the number in the corner next to the symbol. The number of protons in the element is the atomic number. The number of neutrons is the mass number minus the number of protons.
Hope it helps:)

A woman with diagnosed osteoporosis is told by her doctor to take 1,000 mg of calcium carbonate in addition to increasing intake
spayn [35]

Answer:

400 mg

Explanation:

Given:

A woman with is told by her doctor to take 1,000 mg of calcium carbonate.

Question asked:

How many mg of calcium are in this 1,000 mg regimen of calcium carbonate?

Solution:

As we know:

Amount of elemental calcium in a medicine containing calcium carbonate = 40%

As here doctor prescribed 1000 mg of calcium carbonate to be taken by the woman increasing intake of calcium-containing foods in her diet and including regular weight-bearing exercise, hence amount of elemental calcium in 1,000 mg regimen of calcium carbonate will be,

40\%\ of\ 1000\ mg\\\frac{40}{100} \times1000\ mg\\\frac{40000}{100} = 400\ mg

Therefore, 400 mg of calcium are in this 1,000 mg regimen of calcium carbonate.

How much rust is produced with 1.5 kg of Fe reacts with water
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

2071g or 2.071kg of rust (Fe3O4)

Explanation:

Step 1:

The balanced equation for the reaction.

3Fe + 4H2O —> Fe3O4 + 4H2

Step 2:

Determination of the mass of Fe that reacted and the mass of the Fe3O4 produced from the balanced equation.

Molar Mass of Fe = 56g/mol

Mass of Fe from the balanced equation = 3 x 56 = 168g

Molar mass of Fe3O4 = (56x3) + (16x4) = 232g/mol

Mass of Fe3O4 from the balanced equation = 1 x 232 = 232g

Summary:

From the balanced equation above,

168g of Fe reacted and 232g of Fe3O4 was produced.

Step 3:

Determination of the mass of rust (Fe3O4) produced when 1.5kg ( i.e 1500g) of Fe reacted.

This is illustrated below:

From the balanced equation above,

168g of Fe reacted to produce 232g of Fe3O4.

Therefore, 1500g of Fe will react to produce = (1500x232)/168 = 2071g of Fe3O4.

From the calculations made above, 2071g or 2.071kg of rust (Fe3O4) is produced.

4.50 g of NaCl reacts with 10.00 g of AgNO3 to produce 7.93 g of AgCl. If the theoretical amount of AgCl that can be formed is 8
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer: 94.07%

Explanation:

Percentage yield can be calculated by the formula

%yield = Experimental yield/Theoretical yield x100

Experimental yield = 7.93g

Theoretical yield = 8.43

%yield = Experimental yield/Theoretical yield x100

%yield = 7.93/8.43 x 100 = 94.07%
