(Properties of Continuous Systems) Determine (with justification) whether the follow- ing systems are (i) memoryless, (ii) causa

l, (iii) invertible, (iv) stable, and (v) time invariant. For invertibility, either find an inverse system or an example of two inputs that lead to the same output. Note that y(t) denotes the system output and z(t) is the system input.
a) y(t) = (t - 2)2(t+2)
b) y(t) = 2(t-1) + x(4- t)
c) y(t) = x(sin(t))
d) (Optional, not graded) y(t) = { 0, So r(t – T)dt, z(t) <1, r(t) > 1.

Shear _______ can be directly computed from the angle of twist and the specimen dimensions. (a)- Stress (b)- Modulus (c)- Strain
fgiga [73]

Answer:

c) Strain

Explanation:

For example, the shear strain “γ” on the surface of the rod is determined by measuring the relative angle of  twist “φg” over a gage length “Lg”.

why would it be inappropriate to dimension to a feature on a surface that is not perpendicular to the line of sight?
bazaltina [42]
If you are drawing and dimensioning with a computer program the dimension will be inaccurate... If it is mechanical drawing then the fabricator would not have enough information to accurately measure the component. ie a circle turned a few degrees away from perp. would appear to be an ellipse. and may actually dimension that way

For beam design, the cross section dimensions of the beam are determined: A. Based on allowable normal stress, but the allowable
noname [10]

Answer:

B. Based on the allowable shear stress, but the allowable normal stress should always be checked to be sure it is not exceeded

Explanation:

Shear stress is analyzed to determine the shear forces along the lenght of the beam. This is represented in a shear force diagram. The beam cross sectional design is determined in such a way as to minimize the shear stress. Allowable normal stress should always be checked in a structure if failure is to be prevented.
