When an egg is boiled in a pot of water on the stove, there is more than one kind of heat transfer. Heat is transferred from the

stove to the pot directly since they are physically touching. Heat is also transferred from the pot to the egg, carried through the water.

Answer:

Stove → Pot = conduction, Pot → Egg = convection.

Explanation:

There are three ways in which heat is being transferred from one medium to the other and the means are; radiation, conduction and convection heat transfer.

Radiation is the process in which heat is being transferred through emission in form of electromagnetism. Conduction heat transfer Is the process in which heat is being transferred through contact that is two bodies touching each other. Convection heat transfer is the kind of heat that happens through gases.

Since the heat from the stove touching the pot is the conduction heat transfer.

After the water has been heated up, the gas from the water makes the convection heat transfer.

Draw the product that is formed when the compound shown below is treated with an excess of hydrogen gas and a platinum catalyst.

<span>When the hexene is treated with an excess of hydrogen gas and a platinum catalyst, the product formed is hexane.

Hexene is an unsaturated hydrocarbon. Hexene when treated with H2 gas, in presence with Pt catalyst, the double bond is broken. This results in generation of saturated hydrocarbon i.e. hexane. </span>

Flauer [41]

Answer:

1.1 × 10⁻⁴ M

Explanation:

Let's consider the following double displacement reaction.

CuCl₂(aq) + 2 AgNO₃(aq) → 2 AgCl(s)+ Cu(NO₃)₂(aq)

We can establish the following relations:

  • The molar mass of AgCl is 143.32 g/mol.
  • The molar ratio of AgCl to CuCl₂ is 2:1

The moles of CuCl₂ that reacted to produce 7.7 mg of AgCl are:

7.7 \times 10^{-3} gAgCl.\frac{1molAgCl}{143.32gAgCl} .\frac{1molCuCl_{2}}{2molAgCl} =2.7 \times 10^{-5}molCuCl_{2}

The molarity of CuCl₂ is:

M=\frac{2.7 \times 10^{-5}molCuCl_{2}}{0.250L} =1.1\times 10^{-4} M

Which of the following atoms will not react with water
Sati [7]

Answer:

Among Na ,K , Pb , Li , The atom which does not react with water is :

<u>Pb</u>

Explanation:

Li  : Reacts slowly with water

Na ,K  : Reacts vigorously with water

Pb : It does not reacts with water because :- Pb oxidize in presence of  atmospheric oxygen to form lead oxide (PbO) . this PbO form a layer over the surface of Pb and make it inert to water.
