Strong acids are assumed 100% dissociated in water. True As a solution becomes more basic, the pOH of the solution increases. Fa
Kruka [31]

Answer:

Strong acids are assumed 100% dissociated in water- True

As a solution becomes more basic, the pOH of the solution increases- false

The conjugate base of a weak acid is a strong base- true

The Ka equilibrium constant always refers to the reaction of an acid with water to produce the conjugate base of the acid and the hydronium ion- True

As the Kb value for a base increases, base strength increases- true

The weaker the acid, the stronger the conjugate base- true

Explanation:

An acid is regarded as a strong acid if it attains 100% or complete dissociation in water.

The pOH decreases as a solution becomes more basic (as OH^- concentration increases).

Ka refers to the dissociation of an acid HA into H3O^+ and A^-.

The greater the base dissociation constant, the greater the base strength.

The weaker an acid is, the stronger , its conjugate base will be.

Please help me with this!: Beverages such as pop and fizzy water are carbonated by dissolved CO2. Explain in detail why pop will
brilliants [131]

Answer:

If the cap is left off, some of the dissolved CO2 can escape as gas from the bottle, making the pop go flat faster (less dissolved CO2 in pop). If the cap is placed tightly, the gaseous CO2 cannot readily escape the bottle thus your pop won't go flat

Explanation:

If the cap is left off, some of the dissolved CO2 can escape as gas from the bottle, making the pop go flat faster. If the cap is placed tightly, the gaseous CO2 cannot readily escape the bottle thus your pop won't go flat.

Just some fun related concept:

A similar concept comes into play for the reason behind why pop tastes better in fridge then just keeping at normal temperature. This is because gases tend to have high solubility at cold temperatures thus CO2 is more readily dissolved in fridge than outside room temperature which is why it tastes great!

Is potassium fluoride a covalent bond or ionic bond
Ivahew [28]

It's an ionic bond! Potassium is a cation, or a metal with a positive charge, and fluoride is an anion, or a nonmetal with a negative charge.

A covalent bond is the bond between two nonmetals.

Hope this helped!

What purpose do each of the following play in the isolation and purification of ethyl 3- hydroxybutanoate?
Shalnov [3]

Explanation:

-Filter help — delete some big unreacted, undesirable species (norit is probably from what you are sorting through, its only carbon which cleans up things)

— extract with DCM because you are probably in an aqueous phase, and some butanoate is in it

- Anhydrous sodium absorbs excess of  water (dries the material)

-evaporation in the hood to clear the DCM and crystallize the product.
