Describe the steps used to create Lewis dot structures to represent covalent bonds.
antiseptic1488 [7]
1)Identify the atoms that are participating in a covalent bond.
2)Draw each atom by using its element symbol. The number of valence electrons is shown by placing up to two dots on each side of the element symbol, with each dot representing a single valence electron.
3)Predict the number of covalent bonds each atom will make using the octet rule.
4)Draw the bonding atoms next to each other, showing a single covalent bond as either a pair of dots or a line representing a shared valence electron pair. If the molecule forms a double or triple bond, use two or three lines to represent the shared electron pairs, respectively.

Besides glycerol what 3 other molecules make up a triglyceride?
ICE Princess25 [194]
Triglyceride is a molecule constituted by one one molecule of glycerol and 3 molecules of fatty acids. The structure of a glycerol is like a letter "E", where the vertical line ( | ) is the glycerol and the three horizontal lines are long chains of organic acids, each with one COOH group, called fatty acids. The answer is that the other 3 molecules that make up a triglyceride are fatty acids.

What type of bond is is formed when electrons move permanently from one atom to another upon reaction?
VLD [36.1K]
Ionic bonding would be the answer because they transfer electrons. This gives them a charge. If it loses electrons, it becomes an cation, with a positive charge. While if they gain an electron, they get a negative charge, and become a anion. Transferring an electron is losing or gaining, therefore your answer would be that since electrons are permanently being transferred, the answer is IONIC BOND.

Covalent bonds is a wrong answer because they share electrons, which gives them no charge (neutral).

Also, metallic bonding is not the correct answer.

So our final answer: A- Ionic bond
