The balance that can be used to measure a mass reading of 0.90 g will be a balance with ±0.01 g tolerance.

The mass reading balance used for measurement

1.230 g ±0.001 g tolerance

5.43g ±0.01 g tolerance

4.0000g ±0.0001 g tolerance

6.539g ±0.001 g tolerance

What is the tolerance of a balance?

The tolerance of a balance is the number of decimal place values shown on the balance and it is the permissible limitations measured in grams, that a balance can tolerate.

  • Hence, depending on the decimal place value behind a mass reading will determine the balance used for measurement.

From the given parameters:

The mass reading balance used for measurement

0.90 g ±0.01 g tolerance

1.230 g ±0.001 g tolerance

5.43g ±0.01 g tolerance

4.0000g ±0.0001 g tolerance

6.539g ±0.001 g tolerance

Camphor, a saturated monoketone from the Asian camphor tree, is used among other things as a moth repellent and as a constituent
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

its molecular formula must be C10H16O with 2 rings.

Explanation:

the number of rings of the camphor has to be calculated, we have M + = 152.12 in the mass spectrum and it has three double bonds and one ring. The base beak has great abundance.

Since camphor is a single ketone, and M+/MC = 12 ~~ 8, its molecular formula must be C10H16O, accordingly, the number of rings = (10 * 2-16)/2 = 2.

Suppose 2.2 g of hydrochloric acid is mixed with 1.61 g of sodium hydroxide. Calculate the maximum mass of sodium chloride that
kaheart [24]

Answer:

We can produce 2.35 grams sodium chloride

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Mass of hydrochloric acid = 2.2 grams

Molar mass of hydrochloric acid (HCl)= 36.46 g/mol

Mass of sodium hydroxide = 1.61 grams

Molar mass of sodium hydroxide = 40.0 g/mol

Step 2: The balanced equation

HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H2O

Step 3: Calculate moles HCl

Moles HCl = mass HCl / molar mass HCl

Moles HCl = 2.2 grams / 36.46 g/mol

Moles HCl = 0.0603 moles

Step 4: Calculate moles NaOH

Moles NaOH = 1.61 grams / 40.0 g/mol

Moles NaOH = 0.0403 moles

Step 5: Calculate the limiting reactant

NaOH is the limiting reactant. It will completely be consumed (0.0403 moles). HCl is in excess. There will react 0.04025 moles. There will remain 0.0603 -0.0403 = 0.0200 moles

Step 6: Calculate moles sodium chloride

For 1 mol HCl we need 1 mol NaOH to produce 1 mol NaCl and 1 mol H2O

For 0.0403 moles NaOH we'll have 0.0403 moles NaCl

Step 7: Calculate mass NaCl

Mass NaCl = moles NaCl * molar mass NaCl

Mass NaCl = 0.0403 moles * 58.44 g/mol

Mass NaCl = 2.35 grams

We can produce 2.35 grams sodium chloride

Why dose a small container have more pressure than a large container of both have the same amount of gas in them
Volgvan
Because in a smaller container, there is less room for the gas to exist. the gas much all push together closer to fit in the smaller container. as gas atoms, they have less room to bounce around. in a bigger container, it has more room to more and is less pressurized
