Hello there, in my biology class, we did a bacteria milk lab and my group added yeast to the milk in a test tube for three diffe

rent amounts and left them in the dark, checking on the test tubes every day for 3-4 days. My question is that what does yeast do when it goes into milk and what changes/how does everything change from day to day? Just wondering how yeast affects the experiment, thanks.

The standard plate count is used to determine the total number of bacteria present in a specified amount of milk, usually a milliliter (mL). This is used for the grading of milk. The coliform plate count is widely used to determine the total number of coliforms present in one mL of milk sample.

Making solutions is an extremely important component to real-life chemistry. If you make 3.00 L of a solution using 90.0 g of so
kumpel [21]

Answer:

Final concentration of NaOH = 0.75 M

Explanation:

For NaOH :-

Given mass = 90.0 g

Molar mass of NaOH = 39.997 g/mol

The formula for the calculation of moles is shown below:

moles = \frac{Mass\ taken}{Molar\ mass}

Thus,

Moles= \frac{90.0\ g}{39.997\ g/mol}

Moles\ of\ NaOH= 2.2502\ mol

Molarity is defined as the number of moles present in one liter of the solution. It is basically the ratio of the moles of the solute to the liters of the solution.

The expression for the molarity, according to its definition is shown below as:

Molarity=\frac{Moles\ of\ solute}{Volume\ of\ the\ solution}

Where, Volume must be in Liter.

It is denoted by M.

Given, Volume = 3.00 L

So,

Molarity=\frac{2.2502\ mol}{3.00\ L}=0.75\ M

<u>Final concentration of NaOH = 0.75 M</u>

If 27.3% of a sample of silver-112 decays in 1.52 hours, what is the half-life (in hours to 3 decimal places)?
ICE Princess25 [194]

<u>Answer:</u> The half life of the sample of silver-112 is 3.303 hours.

<u>Explanation:</u>

All radioactive decay processes undergoes first order reaction.

To calculate the rate constant for first order reaction, we use the integrated rate law equation for first order, which is:

k=\frac{2.303}{t}\log \frac{[A_o]}{[A]}

where,

k = rate constant = ?

t = time taken = 1.52 hrs

[A_o] = Initial concentration of reactant = 100 g

[A] = Concentration of reactant left after time 't' = [100 - 27.3] = 72.7 g

Putting values in above equation, we get:

k=\frac{2.303}{1.52hrs}\log \frac{100}{72.7}\\\\k= 0.2098hr^{-1}

To calculate the half life period of first order reaction, we use the equation:

t_{1/2}=\frac{0.693}{k}

where,

t_{1/2} = half life period of first order reaction = ?

k = rate constant = 0.2098hr^{-1}

Putting values in above equation, we get:

t_{1/2}=\frac{0.693}{0.2098hr^{-1}}\\\\t_{1/2}=3.303hrs

Hence, the half life of the sample of silver-112 is 3.303 hours.

Determina el pH del café cuya concentración de H+ es de 0.00001M
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

5

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Hydrogen ion concentration  =  0.00001M

Unknown:

pH of the solution =?

Solution:

The pH is used to estimate the degree of acidity or alkalinity of a solution. To solve for pH of any solution, we use the expression below;

          pH  = -log [H⁺]

[H⁺] is the hydrogen ion concentration

        pH  = -log (1 x 10⁻⁵)

      pH = -(-5) = 5
