Good morning.

We have:

\mathsf{\overset{\to}{a} = 29\overset{\to}{j}}

Where j is the unitary vector in the direction of the y-axis.

We have that

\mathsf{\overset{\to}{a}+\overset{\to}{b} = -18\overset{\to}{j}}

We add the vector -a to both sides:

\mathsf{\overset{\to}{b} = -18\overset{\to}{j} -\overset{\to}{a} = -18\overset{\to}{j} -29\overset{\to}{j}}\\ \\ \mathsf{\overset{\to}{b}=-47\overset{\to}{j}}

Therefore, the magnitude of b is 47 units.

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Vector is quantity that has magnitude and direction.

One example of a vector is displacement.

Let us now tackle the problem !

\texttt{ }

This problem is about Vector Diagram.

<em>Assume :</em>

<em>Unit vector in the positive y-direction are </em>\widehat{j}

<em>Unit vector in the negative y-direction are </em>- \widehat{j}

\texttt{ }

<em>Vector \overrightarrow{a} has a magnitude of 29 units and points in the positive y-direction :</em>

\boxed{ \overrightarrow{a} = 29 \widehat{j} } → <em>Equation 1</em>

\texttt{ }

<em>The resultant vector \overrightarrow{a} + vector \overrightarrow{b} points in the negative y-direction with a magnitude of 18 units :</em>

\overrightarrow{a} + \overrightarrow{b} = -18 \widehat{j}

29 \widehat{j} + \overrightarrow{b} = -18 \widehat{j} ← <em>Equation 1</em>

\overrightarrow{b} = -18 \widehat{j} - 29 \widehat{j}

\boxed {\overrightarrow{b} = -47 \widehat{j}}

\texttt{ }

<h3>Conclusion :</h3>

Magnitude of vector |\overrightarrow{b}| is 47 units

\texttt{ }

<em>The vector diagram of this problem can be drawn as seen in the </em><em>attachment.</em>

B. The Earth radiates an amount of energy into space equal to the amount it receives.

Part of the solar energy is reflected by the Earth into space, this is known as albedo. The other part of the energy radiated by the Earth in the form of infrared radiation, is absorbed by the greenhouse gases, which cause most of this infrared radiation to be emitted into space. Therefore, the net flow of energy is zero.

Basile [38]

Answer:

Follows are the solution to the given question:

Explanation:

In this question the missing file of the circuit is not be which is defined in attached file please find it.

In Option 1, this statement is true because the current is on R_3 \ and \ R_4, that is the same.

In option 2, this statement is false because Rcd=R_3+R_4 therefore it implies that Rcd is always larger then R_3.

In option 3,  this statement is true because the voltage of R_1 \ and \ R_2 is always equal.

In option 4, this statement is true because Rab= \frac{1}{(\frac{1}{R1}+\frac{1}{R2})}=\frac{R1R2}{(R1+R2)}. \frac{R2}{(R1+R2)}is always smaller then 1 therefore,R_1 \times (\frac{R2}{(R1+R2)}) is always equal to R1.
