What information does a net ionic equation give?

Chemistry

katen-ka-za [31]3 years ago
3 0

Answer:

C. It lists only the substances that are changed.

Explanation:

Balanced Chemical equation:

HClO₂(aq) + NaOH(aq) → H₂O(l) + NaClO₂ (aq)

Ionic equation:

H⁺(aq) + ClO₂⁻(aq) + Na⁺(aq) + OH⁻(aq) → H₂O(l) + Na⁺(aq) + ClO₂⁻ (aq)

Net ionic equation:

H⁺(aq) + OH⁻(aq) → H₂O(l)

The ClO₂⁻(aq) and Na⁺ (aq) are spectator ions that's why these are not written in net ionic equation. The water can not be splitted into ions because it is present in liquid form. This'e why it is written in net ionic equation.

Spectator ions:

These ions are same in both side of chemical reaction. These ions are cancel out. Their presence can not effect the equilibrium of reaction that's why these ions are omitted in net ionic equation.

yuradex [85]

Answer:

You need 8,324 g of CaCl₂ yo make this solution

Explanation:

Molarity is a way to express concentration in a solution, in units of moles of solute per liter of solution.

To know the grams of CaCl₂ it is necessary to know, first, the moles of this substance with the desired volume and concentration , thus:

0,1500 L × \frac{0,500 mol}{L} = 0,075 CaCl₂ moles

Now, with the molar mass of CaCl₂ you will obtain the necessary grams, thus:

0,075 CaCl₂ moles × \frac{110,98 g}{mol} = 8,324 g of CaCl₂

So, you need 8,324 g of CaCl₂ to make 150,0 mL of a 0,500M solution

I hope it helps!

What is the scaling factor if the molar mass of
Step2247 [10]

Answer:

The scaling factor is 5.

Explanation:

Hello there!

In this case, since the scaling factor is defined as the ratio of the molar mass of the molecular formula (complete) to the empirical formula (simplified), it is possible to compute it for the empirical formula of CH2O whose molar mass is 30 g/mol (12+2+16) as shown below:

sf=150/30=5

Therefore, we can also infer that the molecular formula would be:

C_5H_1_0O_5

Best regards!
