Answer:

Explanation:

Given

mass of children m_1=20\ kg

m_2=30\ kg

distance between two children L=3\ m

suppose  small child is at a distance of x m from  pivot point

so torque of small child and heavier child must be equal

20\times (x)=30\times (3-x)

2x=9-3x

5x=9

x=1.8\ m

Mamont248 [21]
I believe the correct answer would be option 3. Laptop computers contains batteries which are rechargeable so the should be plugged into outlets. With this, it is clear that they can run on either direct or alternating current. Hope this answers.

The half-life of nickel-63 is 100 years. If a sample of nickel-63 decays until 6.25% of the original sample remains, how much ti
a_sh-v [17]

Answer:

400 years

Explanation:

The equation that describes the decay of a radioactive sample is:

m(t)=m_0 (\frac{1}{2})^{t/t_{1/2}} (1)

where

m(t) is the amount of sample left at time t

m_0 is the initial amount of the sample

t_{1/2} is the half-life, which is the time taken for the sample to halve

In this problem we have:

t_{1/2}=100 y is the half-life of Nickel-63

After a time t, the amount of sample left is 6.25% of the original one, which means that

\frac{m(t)}{m_0}=\frac{6.25}{100}

So we can rewrite the equation (1) and solving for t to find the time:

\frac{6.25}{100}=(\frac{1}{2})^{t/t_{1/2}}\\\rightarrow \frac{t}{t_{1/2}}=4\\t=4t_{1/2}=4(100)=400 y

Calculate the mechanical advantage of a lever that has an input force of 15 N and an output force of 60 N. *
andreev551 [17]

Answer:

4

Explanation:

Mechanical Advantage is given as a ratio of the force a machines gives out to the force that it receives.

Simply put, it is the ratio of output force to input force:

MA = \frac{OF}{IF}

We are given that:

OF = 60 N

IF = 15 N

Hence, the Mechanical Advantage of the lever is:

MA = \frac{60}{15} \\\\\\MA = 4

It is a ratio so it has no unit.
