A ballplayer standing at home plate hits a baseball that is caught by another player at the same height above the ground from wh

ich it was hit. The ball is hit with an initial velocity of 32.1 m/s at an angle of 60.0° above the horizontal. How high will the ball rise than where it was hit?

Answer:

Maximum height reached = 39.39 m

Explanation:

At maximum height

We have equation of motion v² = u² + 2as

Consider the vertical motion of baseball,

Initial velocity, u = 32.1sin60=27.8 m/s

Final velocity, v = 0 m/s

Acceleration, a = -9.81 m/s²

Substituting

             v² = u² + 2as

             0 = 27.8² + 2 x (-9.81) x s

             s = 39.39 m

Maximum height reached = 39.39 m

Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

25 m/s

Explanation:

First we should define the variables

T=4

Dx = 100

ay=-9.8

ax=0

We can use formula 1 from the BIG 5

x=(v+v0)t/2

By plugging in our variables we can get 100=4(v+v0)/2

Which is 50=v+v0

v=v0 since horizontal acceleration always equals zero

so 2v0 = 50

v0 = 25

A 50-kg copper block initially at 140°c is dropped into an insulated tank that contains 90 l of water at 10°c. Determine the f
xxMikexx [17]

Answer:

T_f=24.71

Explanation:

From the question we are told that:

Mass of block m=50

Temperature of block T_b =140 \textdegree C

Volume of water V= 90L

Temperature of water T_w=10 \textdegree C

Density of water \rho=1000kg/m^3

Specific heat of water C_w=4.18KJ/kg-k

Specific heat of copper C_p=0.96KJ/kg-k

Generally the equation for equilibrium stage is mathematically given by

mC_p(T_b-T_f)=\rho*VV*c(T_f-T_w)

50*0.96(140-T_f)=1000*90*10^-3*c_w(T_f-10)

48(140-T_f)=376.2(T_f-10)

140-T_f=7.8375(T_f-10)

140-T_f=7.8375T_f-78.375

-8.8375T_f=-218.375

T_f=\frac{-218.375}{-8.8375}

T_f=\frac{-218.375}{-8.8375}

T_f=24.71
