A student needs to prepare 100.0 mL of vitamin C solution according to the directions in Part 1 of the experiment. S/he weighs o

ut 0.0499 g vitamin C (molar mass = 176.124 g/mol) and dissolves it in water to give 100.0 mL solution. S/he pipets 10.00 mL of the solution into a beaker and adds 20 mL of water and 10 mL of buffer. (a) How many mg of vitamin C are in the beaker?

Answer:

4.99 mg of vitamin C are in the beaker.

Explanation:

Given that,

Weight of vitamin = 0.0499 g

Molar mass = 176.124 g/mol

Weight of water = 100.0 ml

We need to calculate the mg of vitamin C in the beaker

We dissolve 0.0499 g vitamin C in water to from 100.0 ml solution.

100 ml solution contain 49.9 mg vitamin C

Now, we take 10 ml of this vitamin C solution in breaker

Since, 100 ml solution =49.9 mg vitamin C

Therefore,

10\ ml\ solution =\dfrac{10\times49.9}{100}

10\ ml\ solution =4.99\ mg

Hence, 4.99 mg of vitamin C are in the beaker.

An optical disk drive in your computer can spin a disk up to 10,000 rpm (about 1045 rad/s 1045 rad/s ). If a particular disk is
Scilla [17]

Answer:

The magnitude of the average angular acceleration of the disk is 4139.74\ rad/s^2.

Explanation:

Given that,

Angular velocity, \omega_i=968.7\ rad/s

The disk comes to rest, \omega_i=0

Time, t = 0.234 s

We need to find the magnitude of the average angular acceleration of the disk. It is given by change in angular velocity per unit time. So,

\alpha =\dfrac{\omega f}{t}\\\\\alpha =\dfrac{968.7\ rad/s}{0.234\ s}\\\\\alpha =4139.74\ rad/s^2

So, the magnitude of the average angular acceleration of the disk is 4139.74\ rad/s^2.

lyudmila [28]

Answer:

\lambda = 2.22\times 10^{-3}\ m

Explanation:

Given,

mass of the bar = 1.1 Kg

length of rod, l = 0.40 m

diameter of the rod, d = 2 cm

frequency, f = 1.5 MHz

time, t = 0.12 ms

wavelength of the shock wave = ?

Speed of the wave =\dfrac{L}{t}=\dfrac{0.40}{0.12\times 10^{-3}}

   v = 3333.33 m/s

wavelength of the wave

\lambda = \dfrac{v}{f}= \dfrac{3333.33}{1.5\times 10^6}

\lambda = 2.22\times 10^{-3}\ m

A 5.00 kg pendulum swings back and forth. At the top of its arc it reaches a height of 0.36 m. What is the velocity of the pendu
azamat

Answer:

Gravitational potential energy = (mass) x (gravity) x (height)

Kinetic energy (of a moving object) = (1/2) (mass) x (speed)²

When the pendulum is at the top of its swing, its potential energy is

(mass) x (gravity) x (height)

= (5 kg) x (9.8 m/s²) x (0.36 m)

= (5 x 9.8 x 0.36) joules

17.64 joules .

Energy is conserved ... it doesn't appear or disappear ... so that number is exactly the kinetic energy the pendulum has at the bottom of the swing, only now, it's kinetic energy:

17.64 joules = (1/2) x (mass) x (speed)²

17.64 joules = (1/2) x (5 kg) x (speed)²

Divide each side by 2.5 kg:

17.64 joules / 2.5 kg = speed²

Write out the units of joules:

17.64 kg-m²/s² / 2.5 kg = speed²

(17.64 / 2.5) (m²/s²) = speed²

7.056 m²/s² = speed²

Take the square root of each side: Speed = √(7.056 m²/s²) = 2.656 m/s.

Looking through the choices, we're overjoyed to see that one if them is ' 2.7 m/s '. Surely that's IT !

Hope this will help you ...
