A bread box is made to move along an x axis from x = 0.15 m to x = 1.20 m by a force with a magnitude given by F = e(-2x²), with

x in meters and F in newtons. How much work is done on the bread box by the force?

Answer:

Work done on the bread box is 0.1157 J

Explanation:

Bread box is made to move along an x axis from x=0.15m to x=1.20m means total distance covered by box is (1.20-0.15)m=1.05m.

Work done is equal to Force*distance covered

i.e;

W=F.d=e^(-2x^2).d

=e^(-2(1.05)^2).(1.05)=(0.1102).(1.05)

=0.1157J

You add 500 mL of water at 10°C to 100 mL of water at 70°C. What is the
Sphinxa [80]

Answer:

Option (c) : 20°C

Explanation:

t(final) =  \frac{w1 \times t1 + w2 \times t2}{w1 + w2}

T(final) = 500* 10 + 100*70/600 = 20°C

Two 25.0N weights are suspended at opposite ends of a rope that passes over a frictionless pulley. What is the tension in the ro
goldenfox [79]

Answer:

tension in rope = 25.0 N

Explanation:

  • Two forces act on the suspended weight. The force coming down is the gravitational force and the upward force by the tension in the rope.
  • Since the suspended weight is not accelerating so that the net force will be zero. Therefore the tension in the rope should be 25 N.

       ∑F = F - W = 0

       so

       F = W

       so tension in rope = F  = T  = 25 N

What is the emf of a battery that increases the electric potential energy of 0.060 CC of charge by 0.70 JJ as it moves it from t
Evgen [1.6K]

Answer:

emf = 11.667 V

Explanation:

Given: charge q = 0.060 C, electric potential energy E =0.70 J,

Solution :

by definition 1 volt = 1 joule per coulomb

so Voltage = emf = E/C

emf =  0.70 J / 0.060 C

emf = 11.667 V
