A driver parked his car on a steep hill and forgot to set the emergency brake. As a result, the car rolled down the hill and cra

shed into a parked truck. If the car was moving at 10 mph (4.5 m/s) when it hit the truck 7.0 seconds after it began to move, what was the car’s average acceleration while it rolled down the hill? Define the positive x direction to be down the hill.

Answer:0.642

Explanation:

Given

initially car is at rest i.e u=0

When car hits the truck it's velocity is 4.5 m/s

it hits the truck after 7 sec

Now average acceleration of car is =\frac{change\ in\ velocity}{time\ taken}

average acceleration of car =\frac{\left ( final velocity\right )-\left ( initial velocity\right )}{time}

average acceleration of car=\frac{\left ( 4.5\right )-\left ( 0\right )}{7}

average acceleration of car=0.642 m/s^{2}

Taking Down hill as positive x axis

average acceleration of car=0.642\hat{i}

An object in equilibrium has a net force of
Butoxors [25]

Answer:

An object in equilibrium has a net force of zero

Static equilibrium describes an object at  rest having equal and balanced forces acting upon it.

Dynamic equilibrium describes an object in  motion having equal and balanced forces acting upon it.

Explanation:

An object is said to be in equilibrium when a net force of zero is acting on it. When this condition occurs, the object will have zero acceleration, according to Newton's second law:

F=ma

where F is the net force, m the mass of the object, a the acceleration. Since F=0, then a=0. As a result, we have two possible situations:

- If the object was at rest, then it will keep its state of rest. In this case, we talk about static equilibrium.

- If the object was moving, it will keep moving with constant velocity. In this case, we talk about dynamic equilibrium.

Which statement is true? Which statement is true? An orbital that penetrates into the region occupied by core electrons is more
masya89 [10]

Hey there!:

Here the Statement - D is correct.

Because Orbitals containing the core electrons are more attracted towards nuclear charge and hence less shilded from nuclear charge than an orbital that doesn't penetrate.  Also due to more attraction between the orbital containing core electron and nucleus, it will have less energy.

Hope this helps!
