g In the absence of allosteric effectors, the enzyme phosphofructokinase displays Michaelis–Menten kinetics (see Fig. 7.15). The

v0/Vmax ratio is 0.90 when the concentration of the substrate, fructose-6-phosphate, is 0.10 mM. Calculate the KM for phosphofructokinase under these conditions (in units of mM).

Answer:

The value of the Michaelis–Menten constant is 0.0111 mM.

Explanation:

Michaelis–Menten 's equation:

v_o=V_{max}\times \frac{[S]}{(K_m+[S])}=k_{cat}[E_o]\times \frac{[S]}{(K_m+[S])}

V_{max}=k_{cat}[E_o]

Where:

v_o = rate of formation of products

[S] = Concatenation of substrate

[K_m] =  Michaelis constant

V_{max}  = Maximum rate achieved

k_{cat} = Catalytic rate of the system

[E_o] = Initial concentration of enzyme

On substituting all the given values

We have :

\frac{v_o}{V_{max}}=0.90

[S] = 0.10 mM

\frac{v_o}{V_{max}}=\frac{[S]}{(K_m+[S])}

0.90=\frac{0.10 mM}{K_m+0.10 M}

K_m=0.0111 mM

The value of the Michaelis–Menten constant is 0.0111 mM.

Select the correct answer. Based on the reactivities of the elements involved, which reaction will form products that are more s
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer: The correct answer is option B.

Explanation: Reactivity of elements is defined as the tendency to loose or gain electrons.

These reactions are a type of single displacement reactions. A single displacement reaction is a type of reaction in which an element displaces another element in a chemical reaction. These are studied with the help of reactivity series.

The element which lies above in the reactivity series can easily displace the element which lies below in the reactivity series.

Option A: This reaction will not yield a stable product because Zinc lies below Aluminium in the reactivity series.

AlBr_3+Zn\rightarrow \text{No reaction}

Option B: This reaction will yield a stable product because Sodium lies above Calcium in the reactivity series.

CaBr_2+2Na\rightarrow 2NaBr+Ca

Option C: This reaction will not yield a stable product because Hydrogen lies below Magnesium in the reactivity series.

MgBr_2+H_2\rightarrow \text{No reaction}

Option D: This reaction will not yield a stable product because Calcium lies below Barium in the reactivity series.

BaBr_2+Ca\rightarrow \text{No reaction}

Option E: This reaction will not yield a stable product because barium lies below Lithium in the reactivity series.

2LiBr+Ba\rightarrow \text{No reaction}

sound travels at 331m/s. How long would it take for sound to travel across lake tahoe, which is 21.6 miles long
vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

It would take sound <em><u>104.998 seconds</u></em> to travel across lake tahoe.

Explanation:

First let's convert the miles to meters, so, 21.6 miles = 34754.4 meters

Now, we will divide this number in meters by 331. So, 34754.4 / 331 = 104.998

And what will the unit be? Seconds will be the unit for time here so 104.998 seconds.

i would have to say boiling because all that does is make the molecules do that fancy word for moving to the surface when they heat.
