700 J is the work done by the system.

<u>Explanation:</u>

The first law of thermodynamics is that the change in internal energy of the system is equal to the net heat transfer to the system minus the complete work performed by the system.

                  \Delta \boldsymbol{U}=\boldsymbol{Q}-\boldsymbol{W}

Where,

∆U – Change in internal energy

Q – Heat transfer to the system

Q – Work done

Here,

<u>Given data:</u>

∆U - 400 J

Q - 1100 J

We need to the work done by the system (W)

By applying the given values in the above equation, we get

400 = 1100 - W

W = 1100 - 400 = 700 J

Pls the explanation of archimedes principle
My name is Ann [436]

Explanation:

Hello !

<h2>Archimedes' principle</h2>

''states that the upward buoyant force that is exerted on a body immersed in a fluid, whether fully or partially, is equal to the weight of the fluid that the body displaces.''

Archimedes principle equation is given as

buoyant force = density of fluid x volume of displaced fluid x acceleration due to gravity. or

<em>Fb=-density*gravity*volume </em>

<em>For example,</em> a ship that is launched sinks into the ocean until the weight of the water it displaces is just equal to its own weight.

Hanging from a horizontal beam are nine simple pendulums of the following lengths: (a) 0.080, (b) 0.26, (c) 0.49, (d) 0.90, (e)
mote1985 [20]

Answer:

Explanation:

This is the case of forced oscillation . The pendulum having the same or matching time period  or angular frequency with that of angular frequency  of external periodic force , will be in resonance having largest amplitude.

Angular frequency of pendulum having length .9 m

= \sqrt{\frac{g}{l } }

l = .9

angular frequency

= \sqrt{\frac{10}{0.9 } }

= 3.33 rad / s

If we calculate angular frequencies of pendulum of all lengths given , we will find that other lengths do not give angular frequency falling between 2 and 4 radian . So only pendulum having length of .9 m will have vibration of maximum amplitude.

How does friction affect energy
Lera25 [3.4K]

Answer:

Friction is a resistive force to motion. When two bodies move against each other some of the kinetic energy is converted to heat energy due to friction. This reduces the total kinetic energy in the system.
