Because water molecules are polar and Carbon dioxide molecules are nonpolar : D. Water has higher boiling point than carbon dioxide does

Polar molecules have more bond compared to the non polar. which means it will take more energy to break polar molecules which resulted in higher boiling point

hope this helps

The correct is D.

Water is a polar molecule and it has polar bonds, which carry partially positive and partially negative charges. This polar bond increases the attraction between molecules of water and thus it requires a greater energy to break the bond between the molecules of water compare to carbon dioxide, which is a non polar molecule. Thus, water has a higher boiling point than carbon dioxide.

G the ksp of calcium hydroxide, ca(oh)2, is 5.02 × 10-6. calculate the molar solubility of this compound.
g100num [7]
When calcium hydroxide dissolves, it dissociates into Ca(OH)2 = Ca2+ and 2OH- Let's assign the variable X for the solubility of Ca2+ and OH I.e Ca2+ = X and 2OH- = 2X Then Ksp = [Ca2+][OH-]^2 So we have (X) (2X)^2 = 5.02 * 10^(-6) 4X^3 = 5.02 * 10 ^(-6) X^3 = 5.02 * 10^(-6) / 4 X^3 = 0.003110 X = 0.1459

Question 1 of 10
Olenka [21]

Answer:

C.

Explanation:

You can use the series of elimination for this. First, you look at A. Technology is not an understanding of something new, so we cross that out. Second, you look at B. Technology isn't a series of steps, so we can mark that one off. Third, you look at C. Technology is something created using science for use by society, so we can keep that in mind. Lastly, we check D. Technology doesn't match up to the definition, so we can cross that one out. The answer that would make the most sense would be D.
