At t= 10 s, a particle is moving from left to right with a speed of 5.0 m/s. At t=20 s, the particle is moving right to left wit

h a speed of 8.0 m/s. Assuming the particle's acceleration is constant, determine (a) its acceleration,
(b)its initial velocity, and
(c) the instant when its velocity is zero.

Answer

given,

at time t = 10 s  moving from left to right speed of particle = 5 m/s

at t = 20 s  moving from right to left speed of particle is = 8 m/s

a) acceleration

      a = \dfrac{\Delta V}{\Delta t}

      a = \dfrac{-8-(5)}{20-10}

            a = -1.3 m/s²

b) using equation of motion

      v = u + at

      5 = u - 1.3 × 10

      u = 5 + 13

      u = 18 m/s

c) v = u + at

   0  = 18 - 1.3t

  t = \dfrac{18}{1.30}

     t = 13.85 s

All digits shown on the measuring device, plus one estimated digit, are considered _______.
Nastasia [14]

Answer;

-Significant

Explanation;

-Several numbers are considered significant in a measurements. Non-zero digits are always significant. Thus, 569 has three significant digits, and 69.35 has four significant digits.

-Zeros are sometimes significant and sometimes aren't:. Zeroes placed before other digits are not significant; 0.0968 has three significant digits.

-Zeros placed between other digits are always significant; 70063 kg has five significant digits. Zeros placed after other digits but behind a decimal point are significant; 7.90 has three significant digits. Zeros at the end of a number are significant only if they are behind a decimal point.

A student wished to add a new experiment to Chapter 2 by investigating whether the mass of water changes when it is heated. The
Valentin [98]

Answer:

mass conservation is valid for all closed system where the mass will remain in the system always

Explanation:

Conservation of mass is applicable everywhere in classical physics

Here we can also apply mass conservation as we know that the initially the beaker and its water content is having total mass of 109.44 g

m_1 = 109.44 g

now when we heated it to higher temperature then its total mass will be lesser than the initial mass this is because some of the water may evaporate from the system.

Here if we repeat the same experiment with closed boundary then we can see that total mass will be conserved

So here mass conservation is valid for all closed system where the mass will remain in the system always
