To solve this problem we will apply the concepts related to energy conservation. From this conservation we will find the magnitude of the amplitude. Later for the second part, we will need to find the period, from which it will be possible to obtain the speed of the body.

A) Conservation of Energy,

KE = PE

\frac{1}{2} mv ^2 = \frac{1}{2} k A^2

Here,

m = Mass

v = Velocity

k = Spring constant

A = Amplitude

Rearranging to find the Amplitude we have,

A = \sqrt{\frac{mv^2}{k}}

Replacing,

A = \sqrt{\frac{(0.750)(31*10^{-2})^2}{13}}

A = 0.0744m

(B) For this part we will begin by applying the concept of Period, this in order to find the speed defined in the mass-spring systems.

The Period is defined as

T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{m}{k}}

Replacing,

T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{0.750}{13}}

T= 1.509s

Now the velocity is described as,

v = \frac{2\pi}{T} * \sqrt{A^2-x^2}

v = \frac{2\pi}{T} * \sqrt{A^2-0.75A^2}

We have all the values, then replacing,

v = \frac{2\pi}{1.509}\sqrt{(0.0744)^2-(0.750(0.0744))^2}

v = 0.2049m/s

One of the dangers of tornados and hurricanes is the rapid drop in air pressurethat is associated with such storms. Assume that
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer:

The net outward force is exerted on a square window of the house is 4.5930\times10^{4}\ N.

Explanation:

Given that,

Pressure = 1.02 atm

External air pressure = 0.910 atm

Distance = 2.03 m

We need to calculate the net outward force

Using formula of force

F= PA

Where, P = pressure

F = force

A = area

Put the value into the formula

F=(1.02-0.910)\times101325\times(2.03)^2

F=4.5930\times10^{4}\ N

Hence, The net outward force is exerted on a square window of the house is 4.5930\times10^{4}\ N.

Light of wavelength 635.00 nm is incident normally on a diffraction grating, and the first‑order maximum is observed to be 38.0∘
KATRIN_1 [288]

Number of rulings per centimeter for the grating 4.5 x 10^3 grooves/cm

Given:

wavelength of light = 635.00 nm

angle of first order = 38.0∘

To Find:

Length of slits marked on grafting

Solution: Grafting and budding are horticultural techniques used to join parts from two or more plants so that they appear to grow as a single plant

We use the grating equation dsinθ = mλ

d = mλ/sinθ

d = 1 x 635x10^-7 m/sin 38.0∘

d = 2189.6 x 10^-7 m

Thus the grating gauge is

1/d = 0.00045 x 10^7 = 4.5 x 10^3 grooves/cm

So, number of rulings per centimeter for the grating 4.5 x 10^3 grooves/cm
