Potassium chloride (KCl) is sometimes used to treat low blood potassium levels. Calculate the concentration of a saturated solut
brilliants [131]
Molarity  is the most convenient way to express concentration.

Mathematically, molarity is expressed as \frac{\text{mass of solute(g)}}{\text{gram molecular weight X Volume of solution (l)}}

In present case,
mass of solute (KCl) = 36 g
molecular weight of KCl = 74.55 g/mol
volume of solution = 100 ml = 0.1 l

∴ Molarity = \frac{36}{74.55X0.1}
                 = 4.829 M
Thus, conc. of saturated KCl at 20 oC is 4.829 M

What is the ph of H2?
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

Hydrogen ion concentration is more conveniently expressed as pH, which is the logarithm of the reciprocal of the hydrogen ion concentration in gram moles per liter. Thus, in a neutral solution the hydrogen ion (H+) and the hydroxyl ion (OH−) concentrations are equal, and each is equal to 10−7. A pH of 7 is neutral

Describe examples of failed experiments that produced valuable information
Nataliya [291]
Hello Norgepr, examples of failed experiments that produced valuable information can be the mage via BoingBoing There have been ample stories of human children being raised by other species and eventually becoming more like that animal than an actual human. If the process could go one way, Winthrop Kellogg was sure that it could also go the other, particularly if the animal involved was one of our closest genetic cousins. In 1931, Kellogg received a grant for his experiment and the timing couldn’t be better –his wife just had a baby boy, David. This would give them the unique opportunity to raise a baby chimp, named Gua, right along side a human baby. It didn’t take long for the babes to bond and become best friends. Kellogg and his wife took impeccable notes on their two “children” noting their physical changes, emotions and how they scored on small intelligence tests. The chimp scored notably higher on the intelligence tests due the fact that the species matures faster than human babies. Gua picked up quite a few human behaviors, such as walking upright and eating with a spoon, but she failed to learn how to speak and learn simple repetition games, like patty cake. Her emotions were also much less predictable and inclined to change at the drop of a hat. Unfortunately, the experiment really started to go wrong when little David started to become more chimplike than Gua became humanlike. He only learned a few simple words and often took to making chimp howls when he wanted something. After only nine months, the Kelloggs gave up on Gua, concerned that David would fail to grow up like a normal human child. In the years since this project, plenty of people have adopted chimps as babies, proving beyond a doubt that the animals can never act completely human –even if they are adorable in overalls.

Classify the following as a physical property (phys) or a chemical property (chem). (a) Silver metal has a shiny luster. (b) Sil
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

Explanation:

Hello,

The question above requires us to classify certain properties which may either fall into physical or chemical properties of that matter.

Physical properties are properties which are of intrinsic value and has no influence on the chemical nature of the substance while chemical properties are those that influence the chemical nature of the substance.

Physical properties can be measured or calculated while chemical properties of a substance is very difficult to measure.

a). Silver has a shiny luster is an example of "physical property" because the shiny nature of silver has no chemical importance.

b). Silver metal has a density of 10.49 g/cm³ is also a "physical property" because density is a physical property of a material.

Density is ratio between mass and volume which are both physical properties since they can be measured.

c). Silver metal and Chlorine gas produce Silver chloride (AgCl) is a "chemical property" since it involves combining of two elements and they both lose their original chemical identity after the reaction.

d). Silver metal has a melting point of 1235°C is a "physical property"

e). Silver metal conducts electricity is a "chemical property" since conduction of electricity are done by the availability of mobile electrons in its electron cloud.

f) silver metal gives no reaction to acid is also an example of "chemical property"
