Lets use the expression

F = k*x

Where k is the spring constant [N/m]

And x the distance from the equilibrium position.

This force is equal to the force due to the acceleration of gravity

F = k*x = m*g

F = 525[N/m]* 0.30 [m] = 157.5 [N]

157.5 [N] = m *10[m/s**2] ...................> m = 15.75 kg

16 kg.
 Hooke's law is:
F = kX
where
F = Force
X = displacement of spring
k = force constant for spring.
 So let's calculate F
F = kX
F = 525 N/m * 0.30m
F = 157.5 N
F = 157.5 kg*m/s^2

 Now that we know the force, we can calculate the mass by dividing by the gravitational acceleration which has been given to use as 10 m/s^2. So 157.5 kg*m/s^2 / 10 m/s^2 = 15.75 kg

 So the mass of the crate is 15.75 kg. Rounding to 2 significant figures gives 16 kg.

Answer:

55N

Explanation:

Using Newton's second law of motion:

Force=mass × acceleration

F=25×2.2

F=55N

So 55 Newtons are needed

Starting from a pillar, you run 200 m east (the + x-direction) at an average speed of 5.0 m/s and then run 280 m west at an aver
zalisa [80]

Answer:

Total time taken=110 seconds

Total distance traveled=480m

Explanation:

First of all, we find the total time taken:

For that, we use the formula : Distance/Speed= Time

Time for part 1 : 200/5=40 seconds

Time for part 2 : 280/4=70seconds

Total time taken=110 seconds

Total distance traveled=480m

Average Speed= 480/110=4.36 m/s

Total displacement=200-280=-80m (Since this is displacement, we need to find the distance between the initial and final point. Also, I've taken east direction as positive and west as negative)

Average Velocity=-80/110=-0.72 m/s

OR 0.72m/s towards west.

Explain why frog will not look green under the red light?
IrinaVladis [17]
A frog can be many different colours. It appears green under normal 'white' light because it absorbs all the other colours in the light's spectrum apart from green. It reflects the green light back and that is picked up by your eye.

If the light is red, there is no green in the spectrum of the light, only red. So, the red light will be absorbed and there is no green to be reflected back for you to see. Therefore, the frog will not look green.
