The number of hydrogen ions would equal the number of hydroxide ions in a solution with a pH of 7.

<u>Explanation :</u>

The substance’s acidic or basic nature is determined by its pH value which is the indication of the number of free hydrogen ion (H^{+}). The pH value and the alkalinity can be measured by pH scale which varies from 0 to 14. Neutral water has the pH value of 7 with equal number of hydrogen ions (H^{+}) and Hydroxide ions (O H^{-}).

A substance with a pH value above than 7 is counted amongst the base whereas those with a pH value are counted amongst the acids. When a solution gets ten times more acidic, the pH value falls by the count of one.

There are various methods to determine the pH value of any substance and the most effective and quick one is the pH indicator paper. When the indicator paper is dipped in the water solution of the substance, it colour changes according to the different pH value. Another effective method to determine the pH value is the use of pH electrodes.

An astronaut drops a rock from the top of a crater on the moon. When the rock is halfway down to the bottom of the crater, its s
Alexxx [7]

Answer: vf1/vf2= 1/ sqrt(2)

Explanation :on the moon no drag force so we have only the  force of gravity. aceleration is g(moon)= 1.62m/s2.the rest is basic kinematics

if the rock travels H to the bottom we can calculate velocity:

vo=0m/s (drops the rock)  , yo=0

vf*vf= vo*vo+2g(y-yo)

when the rock is halfway  y = H/2 so:

vf1*vf1=2*g*H/2 so vf1 = sqrt(gH)

when the rock reach the bottom y=H so:

vf2*vf2=2*g*H so vf2 = sqrt(2gH)

so vf1/vf2= 1/ sqrt(2)

good luck from colombia

1.- Un barco recorre la distancia que separa Gran Canaria de Tenerife (90 km) en 6 horas. ¿Cuál es
bezimeni [28]

Answer:

The speed is 15 km/h or 4.16 m/s.

Explanation:

A boat travels the distance that separates Gran Canaria from Tenerife (90 km) in 6 hours. Which  the speed of the boat in km / h? And in m / s?

Given that,

Distance, d = 90 km = 90000 m

Time, t = 6 hours = 21600 s

Speed = distance/time

v=\dfrac{90\ km}{6\ h}\\\\=15\ km/h

or

v=\dfrac{90000\ m}{21600\ s}\\\\=4.16\ m/s

So, the required speed is 15 km/h or 4.16 m/s.

A circular sign has a diameter of 40 cm and is subjected to normal winds up to 150 km/h at 10°C and 100 kPa. Determine the drag
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

147.7 N

221.55 Nm

Explanation:

P = Pressure = 100000 Pa

R_s = Mass-specific gas constant = 287.015 J/kg k

T = Temperature = 10+273 = 283 K

C = Drag coefficient = 1.1

A = Area

r = Radius = 0.2 m

v = Speed of wind = \frac{150}{3.6}\ m/s

L = Length of pole

Density

\rho=\frac{P}{R_sT}\\\Rightarrow \rho=\frac{100000}{287.058\times 283}\\\Rightarrow \rho=1.2309\ kg/m^3

Drag force

F=\frac{1}{2}\rho CAv^2\\\Rightarrow F=\frac{1}{2}\times 1.2309\times 1.1\times \left(\pi \times 0.2^2\right)\times \left(\frac{150}{3.6}\right)^2\\\Rightarrow F=147.7\ N

Force on the circular sign is 147.7 N

M=F\times L\\\Rightarrow M=147.7\times 1.5\\\Rightarrow M=221.55\ Nm

Bending moment at the bottom of the pole is 221.55 Nm

Technician A says that the governor is used to measure vehicle speed in a hydraulically-controlled automatic transmission. Techn
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

Both technicians are correct

Explanation:

In automobiles, governors are being used. Governors are also known for speed limiters as they can regulate and measure the speed of the automobile.

Hydraulic Transmission: Shifting is controlled by mechanical sensors according to vehicle speed and throttle position/manifold vacuum through valving operated by hydraulic 'pilot' signals.

Electronic Transmission: Shifting is controlled by an on-board computer that receives signals from electronic sensors.
