A U-shaped tube with both arms open to the air has a 43.0 cm column of liquid of unknown density in its right arm. Beneath this

liquid and not mixing with it is glycerin that extends into the left arm of the tube. The surface of the glycerin in the left arm is 18.0 cm below the surface of the unknown liquid in the right arm.What is the density of the unknown liquid?

Answer:

\delta_x=732.5581395 \approx 737.56kh/m^3

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

Height of unknown liquid h_1= 43.0cm =0.43m

Height of glycerin  h_2= 18.0cm =0.18m

Generally  at equal levels of liquid pressure

P_1=P_2

Therefore

 \delta_gh_1=\delta_gh_2

 \delta g=Density\ of \ glycerin=>1260kg/m^3

Therefore

 \delta_g=\frac{\delta_gh_2}{h_1}

 \delta_x=\frac{1260*0.43-0.18}{0.43}

The Density of the unknown liquid is given by

\delta_x=732.5581395 \approx 737.56kh/m^3

There is a refrigerator running in a room, the heat flowing into the refrigerator from the outside is 40 J/s, and the refrigerat
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

(A) 140 j/sec (b) 1.26 K

Explanation:

We have given the heat heat flowing into the refrigerator = 40 J/sec

Work done = 40 W

(a) So the heat discharged from the refrigerator =heat\ flowing\ in\ refrigerator+work\ done=40+100=140j/sec

(b) Total heat absorbed =140 j/sec =140\times 3600=504000j/hour

Let the temperature be \Delta T

Heat absorbed per hour =504000 [tex]=400\times 10^3\times \Delta T

So  \Delta T=\frac{504000}{400000}=1.26K

Use this free body diagram to help you find the magnitude of the force F2 needed to keep this block in static equilibrium. WILL
oksian1 [2.3K]
Static equilibrium means that all forces are equal, so make this easiest you want to break F1 into it's horizontal and vertical components. As there are no other forces acting in the horizontal, we know the horizontal component of F1 is 40N. This allows the vertical component to be found using pythagorus theorem. After finding the vertical and horizontal components, you just have to add the vertical components to find the difference between the up and down.

Chemical weathering is greatest under conditions of
Pavel [41]
<h2>Answer: higher mean annual rainfall and temperatures. </h2>

Explanation:

Chemical weathering is the set of destructive processes through which rocky materials go trhough. These processes cause changes in the color, texture, composition, firmness and shape of the material.

It should be noted that this happens when the rocks come into contact with atmospheric agents such as oxygen and carbon dioxide.

Another important aspect is that rocks are able to break up more easily thanks to this type of weathering, since <u>the mineral grains within the rock lose adherence and dissolve better under the action of some physical agents</u>, such as <u>humidity (rainfall included) and temperature</u>.

Therefore:

Chemical weathering is greatest under conditions of <u>higher mean annual rainfall and temperatures. </u>

What is dark energy?
olga2289 [7]

Explanation:

Dark Energy. Dark Energy is a hypothetical form of energy that exerts a negative, repulsive pressure, behaving like the opposite of gravity. It has been hypothesised to account for the observational properties of distant type Ia supernovae, which show the universe going through an accelerated period of expansion
