These characteristics are possessed by molecular solids. Examples of molecular solids are hydrocarbons. The atoms are bonded by relatively weak intermolecular forces like dipole forces. Hence, they easily melt. When dissolved in water, they don't dissociate and form ions unlike ionic solids. Therefore, they don't conduct electricity whether in solid or liquid form.
