In the following chemical equation, identify the products and reactants and indicate whether or not the equation is balanced. If
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

a). The products are C6H12O6 O2 and the reactants are CO2 + H20 + (solar (light) energy)

b). The reaction chemical reaction is balanced from the number of moles of reactants and products

Explanation:

Through photosynthesis green plants, some protistans and some bacteria in the presence of energy from sunlight, produce glucose as well as oxygen from carbon dioxide and water.

It is a chemical reaction taking place in green plant to produce food which it uses to survive.

Photosynthesis requires carbon dioxide, water and solar energy in the leaves of a plant for it to take place.

The equation for photosynthesis is as follows: 6CO2 + 6H20 + (solar (light) energy) → C6H12O6 + 6O2

The products are C6H12O6 O2

and the reactants are CO2 + H20 + (solar (light) energy)

The reaction chemical reaction is balanced from the number of moles of reactants and products

"you have a mixture made os two substances, one with a higher density than the other. how could you separate the substances in t
shtirl [24]
The correct answer is D) centrifuge the mixture because the substance with the highter density will be pulled to the bottom

When things spin around, like a centrifuge, the centripetal force draws things towards the middle. If you make it a bit like a spiral and put it sideways, then the denser thing will go to the bottom while the less dense ones will remain on the outside.

What are the concentrations of hydronium and hydroxide ions in a solution with pH 2.6?
Deffense [45]

Answer:

The concentrations of hydronium and hydroxide ions in a solution with pH 2.6 are 2.51*10⁻³ and 3.98*10⁻¹² respectively.

Explanation:

pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of an aqueous solution. The pH indicates the concentration of hydrogen ions present in certain solutions. Mathematically it is defined as the opposite of the base 10 logarithm or the negative logarithm of the activity of hydrogen ions, whose equation is

pH= -log [H⁺]

So, being pH= 2.6 and replacing in the definition of pH:

2.6= -log [H⁺]

[H^{+} ]=10^{-2.6}

[H⁺]=2.51*10⁻³

pOH is a measure of the concentration of hydroxide ions (OH⁻). The sum between the pOH and the pH results in 14:

pOH + pH= 14

So, being pH= 2.6:

pOH + 2.6= 14

pOH= 14 - 2.6

pOH= 11.4

The pOH is defined as the negative logarithm of the activity of the hydroxide ions. That is, the concentration of OH⁻ ions:

pOH= - log [OH⁻]

Being pOH= 11.4 and replacing

11.4= -log [OH⁻]

[OH^{-} ]=10^{-11.4}

[OH⁻]= 3.98*10⁻¹²

The concentrations of hydronium and hydroxide ions in a solution with pH 2.6 are 2.51*10⁻³ and 3.98*10⁻¹² respectively.
