A 2.60 kg lion runs at a speed of 5.00 m/s until he sees his prey. The lion then speeds up 8.00 m/s to catch it. How much work d

id do after he speeds up?

Answer: 50.7 J

Explanation:

Given

mass of lion is  m=2.6\ kg

The initial speed of the lion is v_1=5\ m/s

increased speed of lion is v_2=8\ m/s

Initially, its kinetic energy is K_1=\frac{1}{2}mv_1^2

Final kinetic energy k_2=\frac{1}{2}mv_2^2

work did by lion after speed up is k_2-k_1

\Rightarrow W=\dfrac{1}{2}\times 2.6[8^2-5^2]\\\\\Rightarrow W=1.3\times [39]=50.7\ J

A 1300 kg car moving at 20 m/s and a 900 kg car moving at 15 m/s in precisely oppositedirections participate in a head-on crash.
miskamm [114]

Given

Car 1

m1 = 1300 kg

v1 = 20 m/s

m2 = 900 kg

v2 = -15 m/s

(Negative sign shows that direction of car 2 is opposite to car 1)

Procedure

As per the conservation of linear momentum, "The total momentum of the system before the collision must be equal to the total momentum after the collision". And this applies to the perfectly inelastic collision as well. Then the expression is,

\begin{gathered} m_1v_1+m_2v_2=(m_1+m_2)v \\ v=\frac{m_1v_1+m_2v_2}{m_1+m_2} \\ v=\frac{1300\operatorname{kg}\cdot20m/s-900\operatorname{kg}\cdot15m/s}{1300\operatorname{kg}+900\operatorname{kg}} \\ v=5.681m/s \end{gathered}

Thus, we can conclude that the speed and direction of the cars after the impact is 5.68 m/s towards the first car.

What element exists in almost every compound in your body and other living things
Aleks [24]
Carbon is one of the main building blocks of life. This is what carbon dating is so effective, because scientists are able to tell the approximate age of something that was once alive given how much carbon is still in the animal.

Which of the following best describes how galaxies exist in the universe?
anzhelika [568]
I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is option D. Galaxies exist in the universe as they  form clusters that are light-years away from other clusters. Other choices are really far away from the truth. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day.

Other bloodborne diseases are HBV, malaria, syphilis and brucellosis

<h3>What are bloodborne pathogens?</h3>

Bloodborne pathogens can be defined as those microorganisms or pathogenic organisms that cause disease and are present in human blood.

Blood borne pathogens can also be contacted through the following means

  • Se- xual contact
  • Needle contact

1. How would you expect an instantaneous acceleration vs. time graph to look for a cart moving with a constant
r-ruslan [8.4K]

Answer:

a=0   v = v₀ + a t

a=0    line is horizontal

Explanation:

1, In a graph of acceleration vs. time, we have lines, when the line is horizontal it is zero, when the line has a positive slope the increasing accelerations and when the slope is negative the decreasing acceleration

2, speed and relationship of a car is given by

        v = v₀ + a t

where vo is the initial velocity, a is the acceleration and tel time

in this case I will calcograph velocity vs. time the constant acceleration is a straight line.

In general from the graph we can find the initial velocity with the cut at that x and the acceleration of the car with the slope
