What would happen is that once the predators increase and start making the number of prey decrease, in the end there is not gonna be food because they have eaten it all. Then, the predators would start to die off due to the fault of prey for them to eat. Afterwards, the prey organisms are going to increase in number due to this and then the cycle begins again.
