Potential energy is the energy possessed by the body while at rest while the kinetic energy is the energy possessed by a body in motion. Potential energy is given by Mgh, where m is the mass, g is the gravitational acceleration and h is the height.
kinetic energy is given by 1/2 mv², where m is the mass and v is the velocity of the body. According to the law of conservation of energy , energy can not be destroyed nor created but cannot be created. Therefore in this case the potential of the body at rest was transformed to kinetic energy and thus the kinetic energy will be equal to the potential energy.
Hence, energy = 1 ×5×10 = 50 Joules
The kinetic energy will be 50 Joules

First, determine the speed of the truck after travelling 5 meters. This can be calculated through the equation,

     2ad = Vf² - Vi²

a is equal to the acceleration due to gravity of 9.8 m/s², d is the distance equal to 5 m, and Vi is zero for free-falling object. Substituting the known values,

   2(9.8)(5) = Vf²

The value of Vf from the equation is equal to 9.90 m/s.

The equation for the kinetic energy is,
          KE = 0.5mv²

Substituting the known values,
          KE = 0.5(1 kg)(9.90 m/s)²
           KE = 49 J

Answer: 49 J

Incident ray

Explanation:

"To describe the reflection of light, we will use the following terminology. The incoming light ray is called the incident ray. The light ray moving away from the surface is the reflected ray. The most important characteristic of these rays is their angles in relation to the reflecting surface."

Is direction the length of the route between two points ?
zepelin [54]

Answer:

No distance is the length between two routes

Explanation:

Distance is the length of the route between two points. ... Direction is just as important as distance in describing motion. A vector is a quantity that has both size and direction. It can be used to represent the distance and direction of motion.

What is the concentration of OH– ions at a pH = 6?
makkiz [27]

Answer;

1 × 10^-8 M

Explanation;

pH is given by the -log[H+] while

pOH is given by the -log[OH-]

But;

pH + pOH = 14

Thus; if pH is 6, then pOH = 8

pOH = 8

-log[OH-] = 8

[OH-] = 10^-8 M

The concentration of OH- ions at a pH of 6 is 1 × 10^-8 M

Vesnalui [34]

Answer:

This a pure case of conflict of interests between the interest of the shareholders who are the original owners of the company and management's interest in earning much more,even if it at the expense of the shareholders.

Explanation:

Management is the entrusted with the day to day affairs of corporations.In carrying out their duty,they must have at the back of their minds that maximization of shareholder's wealth is of top priority.

However.some management teams in a bid to gain undue advantage set their remuneration below reasonable levels.

Ultimately,when this happens, their duty to watch over the investment of shareholders clashes with their interest for personal gains.
