Answer:

Finally current will be

i = 0.35 A

Explanation:

As we know that power of the bulb is given by the formula

P = \frac{V^2}{R}

now we have

P = 60 W

R = 240 ohm

so we have

60 = \frac{V^2}{240}

V = 120 Volts

now the current in the bulb is given as

i = \frac{V}{R}

i = \frac{120}{240} = 0.5 A

now when length of the filament is double

so the resistance of the wire also gets double

so we have

P = \frac{V^2}{R}

60 = \frac{V^2}{480}

V = 169.7 volts

now the current in the bulb is given as

V = i R

169.7 = i(480)

i = 0.35 A

Jan ran 4 miles north in 28 minutes. What was Jan's average velocity?
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

3.83 m/s

Explanation:

Given that,

Distance covered by Jan, d = 4 miles

1 mile = 1609.34 m

4 miles = 6437.38 m

Time, t = 28 minutes = 1680 s

Jan's average speed,

v = d/t

v=\dfrac{6437.38\ \text{m}}{1680\ \text{s}}\\\\v=3.83\ \text{m/s}

Hence, the average velocity of Jan is 3.83 m/s.

A 2-m long string is stretched between two supports with a tension that produces a wave speed equal to vw=50.00m/s. What are the
svetoff [14.1K]

Answer

given,

Length of the string, L = 2 m

speed of the wave , v = 50 m/s

string is stretched between two string

For the waves the nodes must be between the strings

the wavelength  is given by

           \lambda = \dfrac{2L}{n}

where n is the number of antinodes; n = 1,2,3,...

the frequency expression is given by

            f = n\dfrac{v}{2L}

now, wavelength calculation

      n = 1

           \lambda_1 = \dfrac{2\times 2}{1}

                    λ₁ = 4 m

      n = 2

           \lambda_2 = \dfrac{2\times 2}{2}

                   λ₂ = 2 m

      n =3

           \lambda_3 = \dfrac{2\times 2}{3}

                    λ₃ = 1.333 m

now, frequency calculation

      n = 1

            f = n\dfrac{v}{2L}

            f_1 =1\times \dfrac{50}{2\times 2}

                    f₁ = 12.5 Hz

      n = 2

            f = n\dfrac{v}{2L}

            f_2 =2\times \dfrac{50}{2\times 2}

                    f₂= 25 Hz

      n = 3

            f = n\dfrac{v}{2L}

            f_3 =3\times \dfrac{50}{2\times 2}

                    f₃ = 37.5 Hz
