Answer:

2.62.

Explanation:

Okay let us first write the parameters in the question in question above out. We are given the ka value of propanoic acid, C2H5COOH to be equals to 1.34 × 10^- 5. Also, we are given the value for the initial concentration of propanoic acid to be 0.441 M.

So, let us delve right into the solution to the question and we will be starting by writting the equation below;

C2H5COOH <--------> H^+ + C2H5COO^-.

Please note that this Reaction is a reversible Reaction.

Therefore, the basic things about acid is its great tendency to release Hydrogen ion in an aqeous solution.

So, we will be taken equation above and correspond it with the time and Concentration.

C2H5COOH <----> H^+ C2H5COO^-.

Initial concentration of the C2H5COOH = 0.441 M and the initial concentration of H^+ and C2H5COO^- are both zero.

So, after a time, t, concentration of C2H5COOH= 0.441 - x and at that time the concentration of H^+ and C2H5COO^- are both x and x respectively.

Hence, Ka = [C2H5COO^-] [H^+]/ C2H5COOH. -----------------------(**).

Therefore, slotting in the values from above into equation (**), we have;

1.34 × 10^-5 = [x] [x]/ [0.441 - x].

1.34 × 10^-5= x^2/ [0.441 - x].

x^2 = 1.34 × 10^-5(0.441) - 1.34 × 10^-5x.

x^2 + 1.34 × 10^-5x - 5.91× 10^-6.

x = 2.4×10^-3.

Hence, the concentration of the propanoic acid at time, t= 0.441 - 2.4 ×10^-3.

==> 0.44 M.

pH = -log [H^+].

Then, we have; pH= - log[2.4× 10^-3].

pH= 2.62.

0.25 mol of nitric acid is used to make a 0.10 M nitric acid solution. How many grams of solute was used?
Yanka [14]

Answer:

15.75 grams of HNO3 was used and dissolved in 2.5 liters of solvent, to make a 0.10 M solution

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Nitric acid = HNO3

Molar mass of H = 1.01 g/mol

Molar mass of N = 14.0 g/mol

Molar mass O = 16.0 g/mol

Number of moles nitric acid (HNO3) = 0.25 moles

Molairty = 0.10 M

Step 2: Calculate molar mass of nitric acid

Molar mass HNO3 = Molar mass H + molar mass N + molar mass (3*O)

Molar mass HNO3 = 1.01 + 14.0 + 3*16.0

Molar mass HNO3 = 63.01 g/mol

Step 3: Calculate mass of solute use

Mass HNO3 = moles HNO3 * molar mass HNO3

Mass HNO3 = 0.25 moles * 63.01 g/mol

Mass HNO3 = 15.75 grams

15.75 grams of HNO3 was used and dissolved in 2.5 liters of solvent, to make a 0.10 M solution

How many pounds of manganese are in 1.261 tons of Mn2O3?
Alina [70]

Answer:

2000pound

Explanation:

Manganese metal is produced from the manganese(III) oxide, Mn2O3, which is found in manganite, a manganese ore. The manganese is reduced from its +3 oxidation state in Mn2O3 to the zero oxidation state of the uncharged metal by reacting the Mn2O3 with a reducing agent such as aluminum or carbon. How many pounds of manganese are in 1.261 tons of Mn2O3? (1 ton = 2000 pounds)

About 40 different substances called organophosphorus compounds are registered in the United States as insecticides. They are considered less damaging to the environment than some other insecticides because they breakdown relatively rapidly in the environment. The first of these organophosphorus insecticides to be produced was tetraethyl pyrophosphate, TEPP, which is 33.11% carbon, 6.95% hydrogen, 38.59% oxygen, and 21.35% phosphorus. It has a molecular mass of 290.190.

Please help! I'm not a smart 7th grader, on this assignment you write if it's convection, radiation, or conduction, then you wri
sattari [20]
#8 would be radiation
Because of the heat it produces for the air in the home
#9 Conduction
Because it’s preventing physical heat transfer
#10 convection
Because it is stopping the air from rising
#11 Radiation
Because the heat is emitting from the stove and warms him, but not by direct contact
#12 Conduction
Because the heat transfers from the top of the stove to the cats fur.
#13 Conduction
Because the stove under it heats it through contact
#14 I think Radiation
Because the heat warms up the dish through the air in the oven
#15 Radiation
Because the heat is emitting from the fire.
#16 Conduction
Because the blanket is warming you through physical contact.

I’m not completely sure but the is the best I got. Good luck!
