The chain goes:

gas ---> liquid ---> solid

Whenever you move left on the chain, heat added. Whenever you move right, heat is removed.

1. Solid to liquid; heat added

Liquid to solid; heat removed

Liquid to gas; heat added

Gas to liquid; heat removed

2. Solid to liquid; melting

3. a) Liquid to gas; vaporization

b) Liquid to solid; freezing

c) Gas to liquid; condensation

d) Solid to gas; sublimation

4. Water gets into the air by evaporation. When water is in the air, it is in a gas phase.

5. That one is on you.

A capacitor consists of two parallel plates, each with an area of 17.0 cm2 , separated by a distance of 0.150 cm . The material
My name is Ann [436]

Answer:

a)   C = 4,012 10⁻¹⁴ F, b)  Q = 1.6 10⁻¹¹ C , c)   U = 3.21 10⁻¹¹ J

Explanation:

a) The capacitance of a capacitor is

       C = k e₀ A / d

Let's calculate

       C = 4 8.85 10⁻¹² 17 10⁻⁴ / 0.150 10⁻²

       C = 4,012 10⁻¹⁴ F

b) let's look  the charge

        C = Q / ΔV

         Q = C ΔV

         Q = 4,012 10⁻¹⁴ 400

         Q = 1.6 10⁻¹¹ C

c) The stored energy

        U = ½ C ΔV²

        U = ½ 4,012 10⁻¹⁴  400²

        U = 3.21 10⁻¹¹ J

Why do astronomers use the word on to describe angles on the sky rather than angles in the sky?
Sever21 [200]
The use of the word on instead of the word in when referring to the angular distance between celestial objects comes about because all of the objects appear to be on the celestial sphere and at an indeterminable distance. While we know that objects are at different distances in the sky, their distance from Earth is irrelevant in determining the angular distance between the two objects as viewed from Earth.
