Hexane is alkane and hexene is alkene.

They can be distinguish by bromine test.

Hexane being a saturated hydrocarbon does not decolourizes Br2 in CCl4 and hexene being unsaturated decolourizes Br2 in CCl4.

Reaction : CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2=CH2 + Br2 in CCl4 ------> CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2(Br)CH2Br ( colourless)

How much (mL) of a 2.0 M sodium hydroxide solution would it take to neutralize 50 mL of a 6.0 M solution of hydrochloric acid?
Tom [10]

Answer:

150ml

Explanation:

For this question,

NaOH completely dissociates. It is a strong base

HCl also completely dissociates. It is a strong acid

So we have this equation

m1v1 = m2v2 ----> equation 1

M2 = 2m

V1= ??

M2 = 6m

V2 = 50m

When we input these into equation 1, we have:

2m x v1 = 6m x 50ml

V1 = 6m x 50ml/2

V1 = 300/2

V1 = 150ml

Therefore NaOH that is required to neutralize the solution of hydrochloric acid is 150ml.

If excess ammonium sulfate reacts with 20.0g of calcium hydroxide how many grams of ammonia are produced
bagirrra123 [75]
The reaction between ammonium sulfate and calcium hydroxide is given below.
            (NH₄)₂SO₄ + Ca(OH)₂ --> 2NH₃ + CaSO₄ + 2H₂O
From the balance equation, we can conclude that every 74 g of calcium sulfate reacted with enough amount of ammonium sulfate will yield 34 grams of ammonia. From the given amount,
               (20 g calcium sulfate) x (34 grams ammonia / 74 g calcium sulfate)
                               = 9.19 g ammonia

Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

It helps the body remove heat through sweating.

Explanation:

When the weather is hot, the body tries to keep cool by sweating. The high specific heat capacity means that the body doesn't have to lose much water to stay cool.

The high specific heat capacity of water doesn’t heat the body, but it slows down the rate of heat loss when the weather is cool.

B is wrong. The body uses glucose, not water, as an energy source.

C is wrong. The high specific heat capacity of water is not connected with the body's ability to store it.

D is wrong. The high specific heat capacity of water doesn't heat the body, but it slows the rate at which it cools.
