Hexane is alkane and hexene is alkene.

They can be distinguish by bromine test.

Hexane being a saturated hydrocarbon does not decolourizes Br2 in CCl4 and hexene being unsaturated decolourizes Br2 in CCl4.

Reaction : CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2=CH2 + Br2 in CCl4 ------> CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2(Br)CH2Br ( colourless)

Anvisha [2.4K]

Answer:

The correct answer is the activation energy for the reaction is lowered.

Explanation:

Enzymes are homogenous, thermolabile,biological catalyst which speed the rate of a reaction but itself remains unchanged throughout the reaction.

          Enzyme basically reduces the energy barrier also called activation energy and interact with the transition state of the reaction in a complementary fashion.

        Enzymes does not have any effect in the equilibrium of the reaction.

a person measures the mass of an 8 cm3 block of brown sugar to be 12.9 g. What is the density of the brown sugar.
Maksim231197 [3]

From the information we have, this block of brown sugar  has a volume of 8cm3

The mass of the block is 12. 9 grams.

We need to find out the density of the sugar.

For a solid material the formula for calculating density is given as:

Density = mass / volume

Therefore we simply fit in the above given values into this formula, so:

Density = 12.9 / 8

Density = 1.61

Therefore the density of the block of sugar is 1.61g/ml
