Answer:1) converge or come together. Convex lens bring together parallel rays of light which pass through it to a point. In other words the focus the intensity of a ray.

2) convex lens are wider in the middle than at the edges. An example of such a convex lens is the magnifying glass.

GRAPH INCLUDED PLEASE HELP

Answer:

10 days

Explanation:

The half-life of a radioactive sample is the time taken for half of the sample to decay.

In the diagram, the half-life corresponds to the time after which the % of cobalt-57 has halved. We can observe the following:

At t=10 days, the % of Co remaining is approximately 45%

At t=20 days, the % of Co remaining is approximately 22%

This means that the sample of cobalt-57 has halved in 10 days, so the half-life of cobalt-57 is 10 days.

A stone is thrown vertically upward with a speed of 28.0 m/s how much time is required to reach this height
Solnce55 [7]
A stone is thrown vertically upward with a speed of 17.0 m/s. How fast is it moving when it reaches a height of 11.0 m? How long is required to reach this height?

Let’s review the 4 basic kinematic equations of motion for constant acceleration (this is a lesson – suggest you commit these to memory):

s = ut + ½ at^2 …. (1)

v^2 = u^2 + 2as …. (2)

v = u + at …. (3)

s = (u + v)t/2 …. (4)

where s is distance, u is initial velocity, v is final velocity, a is acceleration and t is time.

In this case, we know u = 17.0m/s, a = -g = -9.81m/s^2, s = 11.0m and we want to know v and t, so from equation (2):

v^2 = u^2 + 2as

v^2 = 17.0^2 -2(9.81)(11.0)

v = √73.18 = 8.55m/s

now from equation (3):

v = u + at

8.55 = 17.0 – 9.81t

t = (8.55 – 17.0)/(-9.81) = 0.86s

How should you approach a dock when the wind or current is pushing you away from the dock?
erastova [34]

Answer:

If the wind is offshore (blowing away from the dock), one should carefully approach the dock at a 20 to 30 degree angle. A bow line is then passed ashore and secured. In boats having an outboard, or inboard/outboard engine, the engine is turned towards the dock and put in reverse. This invariably will bring the stern into the dock.
