The balanced reaction equation for the combustion of butane is as follows;
C₄H₁₀ + 13/2O₂ ---> 4CO₂ + 5H₂O
the limiting reactant in this reaction is C₄H₁₀  This means that all the butane moles are consumed and amount of product formed depends on the amount of C₄H₁₀ used up.
stoichiometry of C₄H₁₀ to H₂O is 1:5
mass of butane used - 6.97 g
number of moles - 6.97 g / 58 g/mol = 0.12 mol
then the number of water moles produced - 0.12 mol x 5 = 0.6 mol
Therefore mass of water produced - 0.6 mol x 18 g/mol = 10.8 g

What type of compound is held together w/ electrostatic forces?
Ugo [173]

Answer:

Ionic compound.

Explanation:

Ionic bond:

It is the bond which is formed by the transfer of electron from one atom to the atom of another element. the electrostatic attraction is created between bonded atoms.

Both bonded atoms have very large electronegativity difference. The atom with large electronegativity value accept the electron from other with smaller value of electronegativity.

The compound having ionic bonds generally have moderate to high boiling points and melting point because of greater electrostatic interaction. Their electrical conductivity are high and these minerals tend to dissolve in water.

For example:

Sodium chloride is ionic compound. The electronegativity of chlorine is 3.16 and for sodium is 0.93. There is large difference is present. That's why electron from sodium is transfer to the chlorine. Sodium becomes positive and chlorine becomes negative ion and  both atoms joint together through electrostatic interaction.

Examining the equations or equilibrium constants related to a base, salt, or an acid is an indirect way to determine strength of
Gwar [14]

Answer:

1 - Weak electrolyte

2- Non electrolyte

3- Weak electrolyte

4- Strong electrolyte

Explanation:

A strong electrolyte refers to an electrolyte that decomposes completely in solution. This means that there are more charge carriers in solution when a strong electrolyte is dissolved in water. A strong electrolyte produces a strong glow. LiOH is a strong electrolyte.

A weak electrolyte is not completely dissociated in water. Only a small amount dissociates in water. HF is a weak electrolyte. A weak electrolyte does not produce a bright light.

A non-electrolyte does not dissociate in solution at all hence it does not power a bulb E.g  C12H22O11.

What does the atomic numbrr represent on the periodic table?
lesya692 [45]

Answer:

Explanation:

The atomic number tell us the number of protons and neutrons in the nucleus of an atom. in other words ,each element has a unique number that identifies how many protons are in one atom of that element example, all hydrogen atoms, and only hydrogen atoms, contain one proton and have an atomic number of 1.
